Signature Validation

This section has been created to test the conformity of the signature validation applications to the international standards and includes the signature formats CAdES, XAdES and PAdES which are defined by ETSI.

The CAdES, XAdES and PAdES sections provide general descriptions of the relevant signature formats, the structure of the subtypes, and test packages for each signature type.

In order to perform the Signature Validation Test, the relevant test package must be loaded into the system as an incoming document to the defined test user. Then the signature of the incoming document is confirmed.

The sample validation result of an invalid signature containing serial and parallel signers with all signed properties is shown in the figure below.

General validation result, validation results for each signer, the full name of the signers, signature time stamp information, archive timestamp information and the signed attributes, if any, are supposed to be provided as shown in the figure below.

If the signature type is based on Profile 4 (which is a local signature policy declared by ICTA), the signature policy attributes of P4 should be displayed on the signed attributes screen as shown in the example below.

Test packages include test procedures of the relevant signature type and test files covering positive and negative scenarios. The signature validation application is supposed to inform the user in accordance with the scenario specified in the procedure for the relevant file after validation.
